Job Overview:
The Trade and Pricing Specialist will be tasked with developing and executing trade promotion and pricing strategies that align with the company's financial objectives and market positioning. This role demands a profound understanding of CPG dynamics, trade spend analysis, and strong financial acumen to enhance profitability. Key Responsibilities:
  • **Trade Promotion Management (TPM):**
- Spearhead the formulation and implementation of trade promotion strategies across various channels.
- Assess trade spend data to maximize promotional effectiveness and return on investment.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure trade activities align with overall business goals.
  • **Pricing Strategy Development:**
- Formulate pricing strategies that optimize profitability while sustaining competitive market positioning.
- Conduct market assessments to comprehend pricing trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
- Execute price adjustments and evaluate their effects on sales and profitability.
  • **Financial Analysis & Reporting:**
- Generate financial models and reports to inform trade and pricing decisions.
- Evaluate the financial implications of trade promotions and pricing strategies, offering recommendations for enhancements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and modify strategies as necessary.
  • **Cross-Departmental Collaboration:**
- Engage closely with sales, finance, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive pricing and trade strategies.
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to advance trade and pricing initiatives.
  • **Compliance & Risk Management:**
- Ensure all pricing and trade activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with trade promotions and pricing strategies. Qualifications:
  • **Experience:** At least 7 years of experience in Trade Promotion Management (TPM) and pricing within the CPG sector.
  • **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A CPA designation is preferred.
  • **Technical Proficiency:**
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Familiarity with TPM software and ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel capabilities and knowledge of data analysis tools.
  • **Analytical Skills:** Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • **Communication Skills:** Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the capability to present intricate information to diverse stakeholders.
  • **Problem-Solving Abilities:** Demonstrated capacity to devise and implement innovative solutions to pricing and trade challenges.
  • **Industry Insight:** In-depth understanding of the CPG industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior.
