Position Overview

The Lead Financial Accountant will oversee a variety of critical accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance within the financial operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Month-End Closing: Manage the month-end closing process, including general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Fixed Asset Management: Maintain comprehensive records of fixed assets, including the calculation and recording of depreciation.
  • Audit Support: Provide assistance during annual audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews.
  • Accounts Management: Take charge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and utilization reporting.
  • Budgeting Assistance: Support the preparation and analysis of budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Aid in state licensing, registrations, and compliance filings.
  • Tax Filings: Prepare and submit use and sales tax filings.
  • Reporting: Generate and update various accounting-related reports.
  • SOP Development: Contribute to the formulation of company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Engage in special projects and reporting as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 31.
  • Experience in Project Cost Accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Deltek Vantage Point software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
  • Background in the professional services sector, particularly in architecture and engineering.
