Department Overview:

The Finance and Accounting division is responsible for managing the month-end financial closing process and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial and management reports for both internal and external stakeholders. This team addresses technical accounting requirements from identification and research to implementation, monitoring, and revision. Additionally, they handle compliance reporting, internal control issues, and oversee financial risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily bookkeeping to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the Company's financial records.
  • Execute month-end closing procedures for financial statements, focusing on areas such as capital assets, leases, accrued liabilities, accounts payable, payroll expenses, bank reconciliations, and stock-based compensation.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliation documents to support reported month-end balances.
  • Review accounting tasks performed by team members, identify errors, and provide constructive feedback and coaching to foster professional growth.
  • Generate quarterly GAAP-compliant financial statements to meet disclosure requirements.
  • Develop weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepare and submit tax information forms, including form 3921 and 1099-B, and assist with the review of form W-2.
  • Support the research, development, and documentation of corporate accounting policies and procedures in compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the design and execution of internal control procedures in accordance with the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
  • Evaluate and help implement new accounting and procurement software solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, accounting, and finance teams to automate routine processes and enhance control design.
  • Support team members with equity administration and various ad hoc projects.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in both public accounting and industry roles.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or equivalent certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a public accounting firm is advantageous.
  • Background in biotechnology, medical device, or technology company audits is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Quickbooks, Shareworks, and ZipHQ is beneficial.
  • Experience with stock plans is an asset.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is required.
Compensation and Benefits:

For Texas residents, the salary range for this position is $85,000 to $144,600 USD.
