Job Summary

We're looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Professional to develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies, drive overall business objectives, and grow our presence in the life science industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in selling professional services, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of success in business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive overall business objectives and growth.
  • Proactively identify and engage with potential clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Drive client engagement, cultivating relationships with new and existing customers and serving as primary point of contact.
  • Identify market trends and target new business opportunities in the life science industry.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients.
  • Analyze competitors and industry dynamics to inform strategic business development initiatives.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through effective communication and a deep understanding of client requirements.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address any concerns or challenges.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans related to business development activities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to upper management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand our network and visibility within the life science community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and guidance, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven success in a business development, sales, sales engineer, project engineer, or related role in the life sciences industry.
  • Direct industry, client-facing experience in an engineering or project management role within pharmaceutical manufacturing and biotechnology is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in selling professional services related to validation services, quality, engineering, and so on.
  • Proven success in effectively targeting opportunities for growth, prospecting, and nurturing potential leads.
  • Proven success in achieving sales goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the life science sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry market.
  • Proactive, go-getter attitude, and passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented, ability to set goals and develop/drive action plans.
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers and additional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated and driven, and willing to learn.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Travel is required.
