In this role, you will be tasked with the generation and adjustment of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for designated projects. You will collaborate with the project manager to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and execution. This position requires the application of engineering methodologies, protocols, and design standards for projects of varying scales and complexities. You will utilize your technical expertise to resolve design-related challenges, working closely with the project manager through innovative problem-solving, client interactions, and timely task completion to adhere to project timelines. You will create both conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to facilitate project success using the latest drawing and technical software tools. Additionally, you may provide mentorship, training, and constructive feedback to junior engineering staff. As a valued team member, your contributions will be essential to the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB's clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning and allocation of discipline-specific tasks, ensuring compliance with project schedules and budgets.
  • Support marketing initiatives, including the preparation of proposals.
  • Assist in defining the scope of work and estimating the level of effort required for projects and assignments within your discipline.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the project team's output within the technical discipline, guiding and mentoring the team towards achieving overall project goals.
  • Coordinate technical project aspects with client representatives and partner teams at the staff level within your discipline.
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or
  • A PhD in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to understand the implications of decisions on technical design and project planning.
  • Proficient in coordinating work planning and design across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Capable of producing high-quality deliverables that are timely, budget-conscious, and within project scope.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (as applicable to discipline).
