Lifecycle Planning Manager

Glendale, California, United States Johnson Controls International Full time

Join our innovative team at Johnson Controls International and contribute to a company where your skills and dedication create a meaningful impact.

We prioritize our employees and are dedicated to cultivating a collaborative and encouraging workplace. If you have a passion for lifecycle planning, project oversight, and financial analysis, we welcome your application.

As a Lifecycle Planning Manager, you will be instrumental in the strategic oversight and management of the Lifecycle ('LC') component of various public-private partnership (P3) facilities.

This position ensures a balance between the operational risks associated with asset renewal and the potential to generate returns while maintaining reserves for future needs.

Lifecycle management encompasses regular payments that cover both Lifecycle Maintenance (non-annual maintenance elements) and the renewal and replacement of building assets.

This is similar to capital planning, with Johnson Controls managing the Lifecycle funds and retaining any unspent resources.

You will oversee LC on a portfolio basis as a distinct profit and loss (P&L) entity, collaboratively managed by the sites and the LC team in accordance with Lifecycle Management protocols.

As a subject matter expert, you will provide operational staff with guidance and direction on lifecycle delivery and planning for individual or groups of sites, balancing risk mitigation and fund preservation.

Responsibilities include financial planning, forecasting, and updating specialized Lifecycle Management tools.

Strategic Oversight:
Establish direction and ensure consistent management across the LC portfolio. Collaborate with operations and senior leadership on the strategic management of the LC business.

Project Management:

Ensure LC delivery and project funding approvals align with company processes, balancing asset renewal to mitigate risks in a cost-effective and timely manner, while meeting financial expectations.

Stakeholder Relations:
Maintain proactive relationships with sites to understand business needs, effectively communicating these to management.

Budget Oversight:
Review and recommend fund releases for LC projects, assisting in the development of LC project budgets.

Performance Evaluation:

Establish and monitor process performance metrics, analyze and report lifecycle fiscal performance against established five-year plans, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Provide technical expertise and support to operational staff, manage complex LC issues, and direct LC activities utilizing all available resources.

Compliance with Policies:
Adhere to company policies and procedures, comply with company standards, and perform additional duties as required.

Professional Development:
Access numerous opportunities for professional growth and career advancement within Johnson Controls. Our structured career paths are designed to help you achieve your professional aspirations.

Impactful Projects:
Engage in significant projects that shape the future of facility management. Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and performance bonuses. We also offer relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
Benefit from flexible working arrangements and generous vacation policies that promote a healthy work-life balance.

Advanced Technology:

Utilize cutting-edge tools and technologies in lifecycle and capital planning, equipping you with the resources to excel in your role.

Community Engagement:
Participate in initiatives that contribute to sustainability and community enhancement.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Accounting, or relevant operational experience.

A minimum of three years of facility management or project delivery experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role involving management, budgeting, vendor oversight, operations, and maintenance.

Ability to manage data for information provision, oversee and train entry-level personnel, and engage with customers at all levels.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel as necessary.
