Job Title: Financial Planning Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Manager to join our team at DreamWorks Animation, a division of NBCUniversal. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in strategic and financial planning, reporting, and analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain financial plans, forecasts, and budgets for the studio's overhead and capital expenditures.
  • Collaborate with department heads to prepare overhead budgets and headcounts for the entire studio.
  • Review and present variances between actual results and forecast estimates, highlighting issues and business trends for management.
  • Manage and enhance the overhead and production planning tool to standardize and automate reporting, improving how we leverage internal systems.
  • Assist with high-visibility reporting processes for DWA Development and Production, including consolidation of monthly financial results, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Controllership to support quarter close activities.
  • Participate in ad hoc strategic analyses to help management understand implications of various business trends and decisions, providing recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting with involvement in management reporting and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, including demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
  • Clear communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts and problem solve.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn.
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously under strict deadlines.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial modeling.
  • Experience with reporting and analytical tools (SAP BPC preferred).
  • Experience working with large datasets, extracting and interpreting key financial insights as well as providing data-driven business recommendations.
  • Advanced PowerPoint / Google Sheets skills.
  • Entertainment or animation industry experience.

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
