Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the housekeeping division, ensuring that the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are consistently met. This role includes supervising guest accommodations and communal areas, managing housekeeping tasks such as budget oversight, supply procurement, scheduling, staffing, and conducting inspections, as well as training and developing both seasonal and permanent staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily housekeeping operations, including staff assignments and procedural adherence.
- Monitor supply levels and request replenishments as necessary.
- Ensure proper handling of lost property in line with established procedures.
- Oversee laundry operations on-site.
- Assess guest satisfaction through surveys and feedback, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Operate within budgetary constraints through effective inventory and cost management.
- Establish departmental goals, work schedules, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct departmental inventories and maintain accurate records.
- Foster positive communication and relationships across all hotel departments and with external partners.
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet operational demands.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings, document minutes, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
- Address staff performance issues in accordance with company policies.
- Recruit, train, and develop the housekeeping team, providing ongoing training for all staff.
- Maintain effective communication with property owners and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Conduct room inspections and provide constructive feedback to the team.
- Support the daily operations of the housekeeping department and assist team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of management experience in housekeeping is required.
- Fluency in Spanish is mandatory.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to effectively communicate within and outside the housekeeping department.
- Proficient in problem-solving with guests and staff across various departments.
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 65 pounds regularly.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Homeowners Associations (HOA).
- Background in housekeeping operations.
