Position Summary:
The Assistant Executive Housekeeper oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping division, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are upheld. This role involves supervising guest accommodations and communal areas, managing all housekeeping functions such as budget assessments, supply orders, scheduling, staffing, and conducting room inspections, as well as training and developing both seasonal and permanent staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily housekeeping operations, including opening and closing procedures and staff assignments.
- Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and materials, requesting replenishments as necessary.
- Ensure proper handling of lost guest items according to established procedures.
- Oversee on-site laundry operations.
- Assess guest satisfaction levels and monitor trends through surveys and other feedback mechanisms, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Operate within departmental budgets through effective inventory and cost management.
- Establish departmental goals and objectives, manage work schedules, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct departmental inventories and maintain accurate records for future reference.
- Foster positive communication and working relationships within all hotel departments and with external partners.
- Ensure staffing levels meet business needs.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings, document minutes, and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Address staff performance issues in accordance with company policies.
- Recruit, manage, train, and develop the housekeeping team; provide ongoing training for both new and existing staff.
- Maintain effective communication with property owners and respond to their inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Conduct room inspections and provide constructive feedback to the team.
- Lead daily operations of the housekeeping department and support housekeeping staff.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of management experience in housekeeping is required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish speaking ability is essential.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively within and outside the housekeeping department.
- Creative problem-solving skills to address guest and employee concerns.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 65 pounds regularly.
- Excellent organizational and computer skills are necessary.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HOA properties.
- Previous housekeeping experience.
The expected compensation range for this position is $28.00 per hour. Individual compensation decisions will be based on various factors.
