Position Overview

Reports To:
Senior Specialized Credit Recovery Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Execute collection activities on designated accounts.

Core Duties:
1. Engage with members concerning overdue financial responsibilities and facilitate repayment arrangements.
2. Address member inquiries related to outstanding obligations owed to the credit union.
3. Conduct "skip-traces" as necessary.
4. Evaluate and initiate documentation required for loan refinancing and extension requests.

5. Assess and recommend to supervisors, when suitable, adverse actions on accounts, which may include repossessions, credit limit closures, blocks on credit and debit cards, legal proceedings, and account alerts for potential losses.
6. Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Skills:
In the view of Specialized Credit Management, candidates must demonstrate the capability and skills necessary to carry out collection actions on overdue financial obligations and assist members in challenging situations.

For internal candidates, a minimum of six months of experience with direct and varied member interactions at the credit union is essential.
Strong verbal communication skills are required.

Tenure Requirements:
To advance to Special Credits Control Officer II, Category 11, candidates must exhibit acceptable performance standards as determined by management, meeting or exceeding expectations for proficiency and efficiency in collecting overdue financial obligations for at least six months as a Special Credits Control Officer I.

Advancement to Special Credits Control Officer III, Category 10, necessitates twelve months in the Special Credits Control Officer II role, with performance that meets or surpasses expectations for proficiency and efficiency in the collection of overdue financial obligations and adept problem-solving in adverse member situations.

Management may consider directly related work experience and/or expedited training completion as substitutes for tenure.

Compensation

Salary Range:
Specialized Credit Recovery Officer I (Category 12): $48,387 - $73,549 annually

Specialized Credit Recovery Officer II (Category 11): $52,258 - $81,523 annually

Specialized Credit Recovery Officer III (Category 10): $57,484 - $90,825 annually

The starting base salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the provided range.

In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries typically fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
