Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Corporate Sector - Data Lake & Analytics team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will play a critical role in enhancing, building, and delivering top-notch technology products.

Our team operates firmwide, collaborating with various lines of business to deliver innovative data management products, services, and value-added solutions. We function in a product operating model, iteratively discovering, designing, developing, and delivering great outcomes to our customers quickly and securely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, leveraging your ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build innovative solutions or break down complex technical problems.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code, maintaining algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Analyze and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with public cloud services, focusing on data and ML engineer personas.
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Experience in cloud services such as AWS or Azure, Java and Python, Maven, UNIX, Microservices, GIT, REST web services, software development, SQL, databases, messaging and events, caching, Spark, big data storage, processing, and consumption.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
