Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Commercial Bank-Technology team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a technical leader, you will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders and partner teams to drive solutions, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to other team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to drive solutions, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to other team members
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Skilled in Java Full stack (Core & EE, Spring Boot, JPA, Kafka) and AWS Concepts
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience working with RDBMS systems and SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Practical AWS cloud native experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of UI technologies like React, JavaScript etc.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
