As a Child Placement Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for families seeking assistance. Your role will involve the efficient intake, evaluation, and coordination of out-of-home care for children, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and organizational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to ensure children are placed in the most suitable environments, including foster care and specialized care settings.
  • Collaborate with Protective Investigators and Case Managers to develop and implement initial action plans, ensuring all necessary services are provided.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and assessments to support the well-being of children.
  • Facilitate the integration of children into therapeutic and medical care, particularly for those with special needs.
  • Act as a liaison among foster families, case management agencies, and regulatory bodies to maintain appropriate placements.
  • Manage crisis communications with foster parents, including arranging respite care and resolving payment issues.
  • Complete necessary documentation for placement capacity and ensure accurate data entry for payment processing.
  • Provide overnight and weekend coverage as needed to support child placements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: A minimum of two years in child welfare or a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Other Requirements: Certification as a Child Protective Professional is advantageous.
  • Current Background Clearance Screening Letter.
  • Valid driver's license.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of the child welfare system.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in multitasking and problem-solving.
  • Willingness to cover overnight and weekend shifts as required.
  • Capability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • Availability for on-call responsibilities outside of regular hours.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, utilizing standard office equipment. The role may require occasional physical activity, including lifting light objects.
