This position is focused on overseeing and organizing the transportation needs of children involved in dependency case management. The Coordinator will collaborate with Family Care Managers and Supervisors to facilitate visitations, document observations, transport children to necessary appointments, and perform essential administrative tasks for families in need. Success in this role requires meeting the outlined responsibilities effectively. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and arrange transportation logistics for Family Support Workers responsible for transporting children under Child Protective Services, including foster home placements, medical visits, and supervised family interactions.
  • Assign and adjust transportation schedules for Family Support Workers, adapting routes as necessary.
  • Assist in supervising children during playtime while parents engage with Family Care Managers, as needed.
  • Monitor family visitations as directed by Family Care Managers or Supervisors; assess visitation quality and document observations promptly.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, biological parents, foster parents, and extended family members.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences to all clients and staff, demonstrating professionalism and respect.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in social services, child development, or family support, with an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field potentially substituting for experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid Florida Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, as required for business travel.
  • Completion of Driver Safety training is mandatory.
  • Must maintain proof of appropriate automobile insurance coverage as stipulated by Florida law.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and legal representatives.
  • Demonstrated patience and understanding when assisting children.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting professional documentation.
  • Ability to produce concise reports within required timeframes.
  • Capable of identifying problems, gathering relevant data, and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions and respond appropriately.
  • Skilled in safely operating a range of vehicles, from compact cars to vans.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The characteristics of the work environment are typical of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.

  • Indoor, climate-controlled, smoke-free setting with some outdoor exposure.
  • Moderate noise levels.

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Good visual acuity and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and manage objects weighing at least 20 pounds, with assistance available for heavier items.
  • Capability to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as sitting, reaching, bending, and kneeling throughout the workday.
