Position Overview
Citi stands as a prominent global financial services entity, managing a vast network of customer accounts worldwide.
Operating in over 100 nations, Citi delivers a comprehensive suite of financial solutions, catering to individual consumers, corporations, governmental bodies, and institutions through various services, including retail banking, corporate finance, investment banking, securities trading, and wealth management.
This executive-level position is integral to the Front-to-Back review team, tasked with evaluating and validating the sourcing, calculations, aggregation, and reporting of Credit Risk Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) components in alignment with Basel regulations across diverse exposure categories.
This encompasses (i) scrutinizing computational methodologies employed to ascertain RWAs, including any assumptions, interpretations, and/or models utilized in these determinations, (ii) ensuring precise execution of these methodologies and controls within Citi's operational framework, (iii) confirming that models are suitable for Basel compliance, validated, and accurately implemented, and (iv) reviewing Business and Functional requirements while performing comprehensive data validation against regulatory capital standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing uniformity across all exposures by defining a comprehensive set of minimum standards, expectations, and illustrative examples. Formulating and formalizing an approach document with explicit success criteria.
- Developing a project roadmap that outlines key deliverables, anticipated milestones, roles, and responsibilities.
- Instituting quality assurance checks on produced deliverables through relevant review and challenge sessions across teams.
- Facilitating and coordinating self-identified issues across all exposures.
Essential Duties:
- Proficiency in quality control or audit-related activities, emphasizing implementation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Capability to independently assess and challenge existing processes/controls while identifying key risks and issues.
- Strong comprehension of Advanced and Standardized US Basel regulatory capital guidelines across exposures or extensive knowledge of capital markets products.
- Experience with best practices and controls regarding regulatory capital processes at other financial institutions.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and data sources, gathering necessary evidence to conduct formal reviews and document findings.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences, including senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the capability to develop extensive knowledge of MS Excel and Access (or similar database query applications).
- Regular collaboration with peers within the Controllers group and other departments (e.g., Technology).
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of pertinent experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
- A thorough understanding of various functional areas and their interactions to achieve the function's objectives.
- Strong communication and diplomatic skills to guide and influence stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Self-driven with the capacity to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
- In-depth knowledge of banking products and systems is highly preferred.
- CPA designation is preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree.

In addition to salary, Citi's offerings may also include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
