At MML US, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director, Field Training. This position is a key member of our commercial team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sales training programs that support the growth and success of our commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of commercial training and education efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategies.
  • Determine education priorities and programs based on key strategic imperatives, product launches, and educational needs.
  • Provide leadership and vision on the design, planning, and implementation of robust education curriculum and certification process to onboard sales and commercial teams.
  • Maintain and improve the training curriculum for the sales force to enhance their market knowledge, therapy knowledge, clinical acumen, and competitive selling skills.
  • Develop strong partnerships and collaboration with cross-functional leads supporting commercial capabilities and readiness and activity.
  • Work with sales operations to create and support a reporting platform that informs the organization of commercial qualitative and quantitative performance, weekly, monthly, and quarterly against annual performance goals.
  • Continuously analyze commercial team performance to evaluate the effectiveness of training and design follow-up programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop training materials based on needs analysis of current and future state business process and procedures.
  • Work with Commercial Leadership team to direct the creation of training programs for global, national, and regional sales meetings.
  • Establish and implement a Sales Process and messaging playbook that provides a foundation for coaching and development.
  • Facilitate didactic and interactive learning sessions.
  • Direct remote training venues, including cadaveric courses.
  • Manage the development and implementation of Simulated Operating Room environments within the context of the overall training and certification process.
  • Manage and deliver on mechanical and electronic virtual training systems within the context of the overall training and certification process.
  • Support training in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Attend select regional tradeshows, national tradeshows, and participate in sales and marketing meetings to present educational information.
  • Act as a conduit of information/feedback between the Sales and Marketing teams, ensuring alignment and continuity in the launch and messaging of new content, collateral, and product education.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure continuity between Sales Training and Physician education programs.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to facilitate in-field training sessions and continuing education for newly onboarded field personnel.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the medical device industry with at least two (2) years of management experience and at least five (5) years of Sales experience with a proven track record of success.
  • B.S. or B.A. in technical, scientific, or business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in developing and delivering sales training for in-house or field-based staff, including the development, education, and evaluation of an applicable sales model.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Experience in a start-up or early-stage environment, preferred.
  • Experience with FDA-regulated requirements that drive professional education system/design.
  • Ability to think creatively and initiate new ideas or solutions to business issues.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet for business use.
  • Experience in the support, development, and coordination of physician/clinician faculty.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $225,000/year; however, base pay offered will take into account a range of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
