THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND

We are seeking a fully qualified Ophthalmic Technician 2 with a minimum of two years of refracting experience, who is both passionate and empathetic to become part of our Ophthalmic Technician team.

Our technicians are accountable for all pre-examination aspects of patient visits, which include collecting and documenting patient histories and performing routine and ancillary testing.

Your role will be crucial in shaping the patient experience at OCLI and assisting our physicians in diagnosing and treating ocular conditions.


OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
  • Conduct tests and document patient’s visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
  • Administer drops for anesthesia, dilation, or medication, and manage specimen collection for testing.
  • Effectively triage emergency cases into the physicians' schedules and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Prepare patients and procedure rooms, assisting ophthalmologists as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions to the office manager.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality at all times.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Ability to collaborate across various specialties and perform all ancillary tasks.
  • A minimum of two years of refracting experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outgoing personality with a passion for patient interaction.
  • Dependable problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus but not mandatory.

While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to stand, walk, and use their hands for various tasks. They may also need to lift or move up to 10 pounds occasionally.
