THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND


We are seeking a fully qualified Ophthalmic Technician 2 with a minimum of two years of refracting experience, who is dedicated and compassionate to become part of our team as Ophthalmic Technicians.

Our Technicians are accountable for all pre-examination components of the patient visit. This encompasses collecting and documenting patient information and history, as well as performing routine and additional patient testing.

Your role will be crucial in shaping the patient experience at OCLI and assisting our physicians in diagnosing and treating ocular conditions.


OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
As an Ophthalmic Technician 2, you will:
  • Assess and document patients' visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
  • Administer drops for anesthesia, dilation, or medication, and manage specimen collection and processing.
  • Effectively triage urgent cases into the physicians' schedules and maintain patient flow.
  • Prepare patients and examination rooms, assisting ophthalmologists with procedures as necessary.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on equipment and inform the office manager of any malfunctions.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality at all times.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • Experience working across various specialties and performing all ancillary tasks.
  • A minimum of two years of refracting experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly demeanor and a passion for patient interaction.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service and respond promptly to patient needs.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Knowledge of ocular pharmacology, including anesthetics and anti-inflammatories, is a plus but not mandatory.

While performing the duties of this position, you will be required to stand, walk, and use your hands frequently. You may occasionally need to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
