We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at SGS. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing samples for analysis, performing routine operations, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Preparation: Prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Laboratory Operations: Perform routine operations, maintenance, and calibration of preparation instruments and equipment.
- Quality Control: Ensure best quality through adherence to all policies, procedures, and quality verifications.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of chemicals and consumables, ensuring appropriate levels at all times.
- Safety Protocols: Ensure all chemicals are labelled appropriately, required personal protective equipment is worn consistently, and all safety precautions are followed.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent and prior general working experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree in a Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and 1-2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Language Skills: Proficient English language skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lb on a frequent basis.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour (dependent on experience).
- Overtime Pay: Eligible for overtime pay.
- Benefits Package: Participation in the Company's benefit programs, immediate eligibility to participate in the Company's 401K Retirement Plan, paid vacation, and sick time accrual.
