Job Summary:

As a Tractor Technician with J.B. Hunt Transport, you will be responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, service, and repair of our tractors and other equipment. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting issues, completing fleet maintenance processes, and ensuring that units meet our specifications at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Intermediate-Level Repairs: Accurately perform intermediate-level repairs to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot Tractor Issues: Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed.
  • Participate in Training and Development: Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs and assist with the onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees.
  • Maintain Shop Safety Procedures: Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers at all times.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications: 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, A/C Certification, DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
