Description
The Restaurant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all essential activities necessary for the smooth and effective functioning of the restaurant. This includes, but is not limited to, Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), special events, bar operations, staff scheduling, financial management, cash handling, payroll, operational systems, and adherence to compliance standards as per established policies and guidelines.
The role involves training, mentoring, and providing feedback to restaurant team members in line with company protocols. This includes conducting performance evaluations and making informed recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, and terminations.
Engagement with guests is a critical aspect of this position, as the manager must effectively address and resolve customer complaints in accordance with established procedures. Collaboration with the General Manager and other key personnel is essential when dealing with escalated situations.
The Restaurant Operations Manager will implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster a supportive team environment that aligns with the organization’s values and objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and guidelines that ensure the efficient and safe operation of the restaurant.
- Monitoring financial transactions and managing the budget to ensure compliance with financial targets.
- Forecasting labor costs and presenting findings to the General Manager.
Education, Experience & Behavior Requirements
Education and Certification:
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
- Current food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe).
- Current alcohol awareness certification (e.g., TIPS).
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in managing restaurant operations.
Work Behaviors:

Knowledge and Skills:

Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
