Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our team in Newtown, PA.

Job Summary:

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of properties, including month-end close, reconciliations, lease accounting, fixed asset accounting, census/vacancy, and reporting/management. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with financial software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Approve accounts payable invoices related to assets
  • Process and upload monthly journal entries for lease accounting and fixed assets
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations as assigned
  • Maintain a mass listing of all properties
  • Complete monthly census/reporting for residential, host, unopened homes, and other key metrics
  • Maintain fixed asset and lease accounting modules in NetSuite
  • Assist with annual budgets
  • Monitor leases for expiration, renewal, step changes, etc.
  • Assist with the review, renewal, and approval of new and existing leases
  • Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting
  • Process and distribute reports
  • Monitor work orders
  • Assist with the review and approval of bids for projects
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Self-starter who can function independently, and as part of a team
  • Excellent record-keeping and file maintenance
  • Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities
  • Occasional overtime is required throughout the year
