Director, Revenue Cycle Management

Premier Orthopaedics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Revenue Cycle Management to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our revenue cycle departments to optimize performance and quality levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize revenue cycle processes to ensure efficient use of resources and high-quality outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable activity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve key revenue cycle metrics, including A/R Days, Unbilled A/R, Denial Percentage, and Cash Collections.
  • Analyze large volumes of data to provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership.
  • Manage self-pay receivables, including vendor relationships and charity review processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for designated areas, evaluating new systems and methods and recommending changes as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of 3rd party billing requirements and reimbursement principles, ensuring compliance with payor contracts and communicating with payers on escalated issues.
  • Review and implement changes to electronic claims formatting as needed.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss third-party reimbursement methodologies and provide direction on changes in managed care reimbursement and insurance guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date on compliance regulations, standards, and directives regarding governmental/regulatory agencies and/or third-party payers, ensuring communication and education of such to the Billing department and other Revenue Cycle Leaders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a supervisory, manager, or leadership role in healthcare revenue cycle operations, preferably with multiple physician specialties.
  • Experience with Athena EMR highly preferred.
  • Experience with Orthopaedic billing desired.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and positively impact others.
  • Knowledge of claims processing and editing systems, as well as Medicare and Medicaid payer guidelines across multiple states.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures, including CPT, HCPCS, and diagnosis coding.
  • Experience working in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and providers.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
