Overview

AccuWeather Careers is seeking an experienced Director of Advertising Sales to join our Advertising Sales Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and selling advertising solutions to our key partners, driving revenue growth and contributing to the company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Build and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and meet sales targets.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including agency holding companies, media companies, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Sales and Account Management: Manage sales and account relationships with key partners, including developing and executing sales plans, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sales opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and operations, to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 3+ years digital ad sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about a particular industry and/or product set
  • Comfortable with presenting to clients and agencies
  • Familiarity with agency holding companies and strong relationships across the agency landscape
  • Ability to partner within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to consult and bring ideas to the table
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Ability to build internal networks to accomplish goals through collaboration with resources across teams
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and is action-oriented
  • Can balance the need for quick turnaround with longer-term strategic efforts
  • Is flexible and can deal effectively with changes in priorities or ambiguity
  • Is driven and solution-oriented and can overcome obstacles to drive projects through completion
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
  • Strong belief in AccuWeather's vision and goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Marketing Automation and Programmatic Advertising expertise
  • Exhibits a high level of competency in oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in building relationships with senior agency decision makers
