Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Golden Gate Regional Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the HR department across key areas, including Employee Relations, Recruitment and Onboarding, Performance Management, Workers' Compensation, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in handling employee complaints and participate in investigations to ensure prompt, effective resolution in line with agency policies.
  • Help resolve workplace conflicts by evaluating work-related concerns and collaborating with management to determine appropriate actions.
  • Advise managers on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to enhance employee performance as needed.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and suggest improvements in HR practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality while interacting with staff at all levels.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business administration, or other related fields.
  • 3-5 years of human resources experience, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Solid understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting workplace investigations and handling employee complaints.
  • Experience in performance management, including conducting performance reviews, developing improvement plans, and coaching managers on effective feedback.
  • Experience with workers' compensation processes, safety compliance, and maintaining OSHA logs.
  • Experience with DEI program development and implementation, including facilitating training and workshops.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and Workers' Compensation laws.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

  • Excellent oral/written communication, marketing, presentation, interviewing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), internet, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation skills, and ability to interact with employees at all levels throughout the company.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problems.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and meet tight deadlines with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and trust and perform in a team environment.
