Position: Client Associate

Overview:
The Client Associate will collaborate with senior Client Advisors to engage with institutional clients and prospects, including corporate pensions, public pensions, not-for-profit organizations, insurance firms, and family offices. This role is integral to supporting the North American business development efforts of the Institutional Client Group at our esteemed investment firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior Client Advisors in their business development initiatives to meet established objectives.
  • Serve as a backup for Client Advisors on all client and prospect-related matters.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the client and prospect landscape, conducting thorough research to develop insights into their interests and needs.
  • Collaborate with Client Advisors to implement targeted outreach and marketing strategies.
  • Acquire knowledge of the firm's diverse investment offerings to effectively engage with clients, prospects, and internal teams.
  • Create and maintain prospect target lists, researching sales opportunities and market trends using external resources.
  • Support Client Advisors in preparing internal reports for senior management, including business plans and territory updates.
  • Conduct detailed preparation for meetings, including researching clients and coordinating necessary calls with Portfolio Management and other key teams.
  • Manage follow-up actions post-meetings to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments (marketing, performance, analytics, operations, legal & compliance) to address client requirements.
  • Oversee the submission of RFPs/RFIs, ensuring deadlines are met and content accuracy is maintained.
  • Act as the primary contact for specific client and prospect relationships, attending meetings on behalf of the Client Advisor when required.
  • Facilitate the management of existing client relationships, working closely with the Client Advisor to ensure timely servicing of client and consultant needs.
  • Engage in team projects aimed at improving internal processes in line with industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the mentoring and professional growth of Client Analyst colleagues.

Qualifications:
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the investment management sector is essential.
• Familiarity with equity, fixed income, and alternative investment strategies is preferred.
• Additional certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA, CAIA) are advantageous.
• Exceptional presentation, business writing, and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities are crucial.
• A proactive team player with high motivation is desired.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected.
• Knowledge of Salesforce, eVestment, and Preqin is a plus.
• Possession of Series 7, 66, and 31 licenses is preferred, or the ability to obtain them within six months of employment.
