Job Summary

The Director of Fundraising is a key member of the University Advancement division, reporting to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Development and Comprehensive Campaigns. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations across the university's constituents, with a focus on gifts ranging from $25,000 to $250,000.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement development and campaign strategies in partnership with the AVP for Development and Comprehensive Campaigns.
  • Assist in strategy conversations with volunteer leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with other development staff members to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Manage a flexible prospect portfolio, including alumni and friends from across campus and individuals or organizations with varied interests.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the university from diverse backgrounds to advance fundraising efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of four years of increasingly responsible and successful fundraising experience or professional experience with transferable skills such as sales, marketing, or public relations.
  • Demonstrated track record in working with individuals and groups, ability to work as a member of a team, recognition of the importance of education to individuals and society.
  • Experience with a nonprofit organization, capital/comprehensive campaigns, and/or specific experience in major gift solicitation, corporate foundation relations, or constituent relations.
  • Preferred skills include a master's or other advanced degree, experience/background in higher education, and experience with alumni/philanthropic partner databases and campus applications.
