Job Title: ASAM Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ASAM Clinical Specialist to join our team at the Community Renewal Team. As a key member of our Clinical Services department, you will play a vital role in providing intensive clinical treatment to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Job Summary:

The ASAM Clinical Specialist will be responsible for coordinating intensive clinical treatment, providing specialized group and individual counseling services, and collaborating with other service providers to ensure comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete initial assessments and diagnose individuals based on presenting symptoms and related behaviors
  • Triangulate individuals to the appropriate level of care within the organization, utilizing the least restrictive means possible to meet client needs and/or medical necessity (based on ASAM criteria)
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling, psychotherapy, and/or crisis intervention to individuals diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with other service providers, such as probation and/or parole officers, to ensure comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement person-centered, individualized treatment plans, and make referrals for other care providers as needed
  • Ensure discharge and transfer of care are completed based on policy and procedures
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, DSM-5, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Experience working with individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders, preferably in an intensive outpatient setting
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
