Position Overview:
This role is designated for a flexible position within the Community Center. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as this position guarantees no minimum hours but may require up to 40 hours of work weekly without benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepares a variety of specialty beverages in a dedicated coffee service environment. Operates high-quality espresso machinery and grinds fresh coffee beans.

Creates beverages by adjusting grind size, measuring coffee doses, tamping grounds, and ensuring optimal extraction.

Completes specialty drink orders according to customer preferences and established recipes, including but not limited to cappuccinos, brewed coffees, lattes, espressos, and more. Adjusts recipes as necessary to accommodate customer requests.

Also prepares non-alcoholic mixed beverages such as iced coffees, smoothies, and fruit drinks, adhering to recipe guidelines.

Serves alcoholic beverages upon request and prepares a selection of food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and snacks. Engages with customers directly, processes payments, and operates the cash register while ensuring accurate change is returned. Maintains equipment in optimal condition by following cleaning protocols and sanitation standards. May be responsible for opening and closing duties. 2. Organizes the work area for efficient operations and manages cash handling. Ensures cleanliness and organization of the work environment, including setting up and cleaning tables for customers and replenishing condiments as needed. Operates dishwashing equipment and performs routine maintenance and cleaning tasks, including washing glassware, dishes, and utensils.

Conducts thorough cleaning tasks as required, such as maintaining coffee machines, cleaning ceilings, and sanitizing work areas.

May assist in unloading and organizing stock deliveries. Responsible for transferring waste from the work area to disposal locations. 3. Aids in inventory management by identifying items that need reordering. May be tasked with preparing documentation for cash accountability. 4.

Independently completes assigned tasks following initial instructions, with periodic guidance from a supervisor who evaluates performance and addresses customer concerns.

Work is assessed based on adherence to instructions regarding task sequence, methods, and deadlines. 5. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves continuous standing and walking, with frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance, and occasionally lift heavier items with help.


Qualifications:
Open to all applicants. Candidates will be evaluated based on their qualifications and eligibility criteria.

Experience in specialty coffee preparation or related fields is required. Knowledge of various drink recipes and coffee types is essential.

Ability to operate espresso machines safely and memorize drink recipes is necessary. Candidates must follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and perform basic arithmetic. Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds regularly and standing for extended periods.

Must obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and complete necessary training. A satisfactory pre-employment physical and background check is required.
