About the Role

We are seeking a chartered Structural or Civil Structural Engineer with a robust technical foundation and proven professional expertise in structural engineering.

Experience across a diverse array of projects, including both superstructures and substructures, is essential. Candidates must possess the capability to design and assess steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures in accordance with British and Eurocode Standards. The role encompasses conducting structural assessments, as well as overseeing and mentoring team members.

Supporting the Technical Director and Department Head in managing the Structural Engineering Team, expanding its project portfolio, and pursuing new business opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct design audits for entire projects or specific components
  • Assume technical responsibility
  • Provide line management for engineering personnel
  • Perform design audits and risk evaluations
  • Execute structural inspections
  • Participate in meetings
  • Oversee daily project operations
  • Stay informed on advancements in civil structures and structural engineering standards
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills to engage with clients and fellow design team members
  • Exhibit willingness to travel
  • Conduct structural inspections across various types of structures

Candidate Requirements:
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Membership in a professional institution, such as ICE or IStructE
  • Chartered status (CEng)
  • Proven experience in civil and structural engineering
  • Strong communication skills and ability to produce technical documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant design codes
  • Experience in structural inspections
  • Ability to collaborate within a team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
  • Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement
  • Project management experience is advantageous
  • Full UK driving license
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel

Qualifications Required:
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Membership in a professional institution, such as ICE or IStructE
  • Chartered status (CEng)
