Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company protocols.

Assist the Line Manager in effectively managing the Oceaneering contract, ensuring technical delivery and cost efficiency.

Contribute to the formulation of the annual budget.

Guarantee that all work adheres to relevant engineering safety standards and practices, reviewing any updates and feedback from the client’s Integrity Focal Point.

Develop and maintain structural integrity documentation for each asset as necessary.

Prepare and uphold Structural Inspection Routines based on strategies established by the client’s Structural Integrity Engineer.

Support the Principal Structural Engineer and Project Managers in delivering the Structural Integrity Management Service.

Provide technical guidance and leadership within the designated structural engineering discipline, delegating tasks to junior engineers as appropriate and reviewing their outputs.

Ensure that structural inspections outlined in the strategies are executed and coordinated with other activities as needed, generating an annual inspection program.

Contribute to the production and ongoing management of the asset’s Annual Inspection Plans and ensure compliance with Integrated Field Planning for structural activities.

Develop and distribute detailed inspection workpacks for structural inspections to the relevant personnel or contractors, ensuring all parties are well-informed about the workscopes.

Review and validate all Structural Inspection Reports, including third-party NDE Reports, confirming that inspections were conducted as required by the strategies.

Conduct initial assessments of reported defects, document any anomalies, and communicate areas of concern to the client’s Structural Integrity Engineer.

Advise the client when conditions pose an immediate threat to structural integrity.

Contribute to the IQRO process regarding structural issues.

Inform the client’s Structural Integrity Engineer of any limitations arising from inspections and propose alternative solutions for problem resolution.

Assist in the development and execution of fabric maintenance strategies, programs, and plans.

Encourage the application of specialized technology to address unique challenges and collaborate with the client on implementation when suitable.

Draft the annual summary reports for topside structural inspections at year-end.

Maintain effective communication with Asset Teams, third parties, and internal departments to ensure a robust Structural Integrity Management service.

Participate in TAR Meetings, Asset Integrity meetings, and technical documentation reviews as necessary, ensuring effective collaboration with asset teams and external parties.

Support the Line Manager in preparing the Oceaneering monthly performance management report.

Contribute to annual reporting as directed by the Line Manager.

Assist the Line Manager in achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and overall service management.

Qualifications

Essential
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.

Preferred
MSc qualification in a relevant discipline.

Chartered Engineer status as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent.

Offshore medical and survival certification.

Experience

Essential
A minimum of 6 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, including at least 3 years in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on structural steelwork inspection.

Familiarity with QA/QC systems and NDE techniques.

Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to problem-solving and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
