Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality outpatient therapy services to children and adolescents, working closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurse practitioners to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial evaluations and provide direct outpatient clinical services for children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating patient input and goals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and patient referrals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, adhering to VCUHS policies and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and contribute to the mission of VCUHS and the Department.
Requirements
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or nursing from an accredited program.
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Minimum of three years post-licensure experience providing initial psychiatric evaluations and psychotherapy in an outpatient setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with child, adolescent, and family populations.
