About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Handle and maintain medical instruments, supplies, and equipment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, ensuring the patient's needs are met and their comfort is maintained.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • One year of specialized experience in a surgical setting, with a strong understanding of medical instruments, human anatomy, and aseptic technique.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong commitment to patient safety and comfort, with a focus on maintaining a sterile and efficient operating environment.
  • The ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, with on-call and Saturday rotations.
