Role Overview:

As a vital member of the Process Manufacturing Engineer (PME) team, you will significantly contribute to the enhancement of our additive manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be essential in documenting and controlling our operational procedures. Collaborating closely with the engineering team, you will optimize workflows, address challenges, and ensure the effective implementation of advanced 3D printing production techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Production:

  • Develop, assess, and refine manufacturing methodologies and workflows.
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools to drive process enhancements that yield higher efficiency, reduced waste, and minimized non-conformities.
  • Implement Lean principles to accelerate process efficiency, eliminate waste, and enhance quality through gap analysis and analytics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operator accountability through Kaizen initiatives.
  • Create and maintain essential documentation including Work Instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), process specifications, and qualification plans.
  • Provide training to operations, quality, maintenance, and fulfillment teams as processes evolve.
  • Design and instruct on the use of tooling and fixtures.
  • Lead Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives within the facility.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and other departments to address manufacturing needs and production timelines.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for manufacturing process discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Process Development & New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Assist in executing material characterization and process development studies to introduce new materials to our portfolio.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts by developing technical content for white papers and webinars.
  • Collaborate with product teams to establish processes for new additive manufacturing technologies and capabilities.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of emerging technologies to enhance our service offerings.

Applications Engineering & Business Development:

  • Encourage collaboration across Operations, Quality, Fulfillment, and Sales teams.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for additive manufacturing technologies and processes.
  • Support the development of new applications and business strategies for additive manufacturing.
  • Consult with engineering and sales teams regarding manufacturing capabilities and technology assessments.

Business Growth & Strategy:

  • Contribute to strategic development projects by providing technical expertise and analytical insights.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to guide leadership decisions.
  • Drive improvement initiatives across various operational levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient in mechanical testing methods and understanding of material properties.
  • Experience in designing complex 3D components and utilizing CAD software.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with a foundation in statistics and process control.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
