JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Support the Area Safety Manager in establishing and upholding a robust safety program that aligns with corporate policies and adheres to federal, state, and local regulations.

This includes proactive job planning and specific task evaluations as they arise.

Assist in assessing the effectiveness of safety measures and generating regular compliance reports, while also contributing to the formulation of strategies for performance enhancement.

Engage in the creation and execution of various training programs focused on safety, professional development, and other relevant areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Adhere to safety protocols.
  • Comprehend and follow both verbal and written directives.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely.
  • Report to and support immediate supervisors.
  • Deliver quality work in accordance with project specifications.
  • Accountable for all tools and materials at the conclusion of your shift.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in project planning to foster a safe and productive work atmosphere.
  • Conduct inspections of emergency equipment, including first aid kits and firefighting tools.
  • Ensure proper signage is displayed in hazardous areas and provide training on safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the inventory of personal protective equipment and essential safety supplies.
  • Assist in identifying project-specific safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors to conduct regular safety meetings and ensure safe working conditions.
  • Facilitate new employee safety orientation programs.
  • Promote safety awareness throughout the project using educational materials and meetings.
  • Prepare monthly safety reports and review project safety performance with management.
  • Support management in accident investigations and insurance claim processes.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and insurance providers to gather necessary information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Exercise some oversight in implementing safety programs within company guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act independently and make informed decisions within established safety parameters.
  • Be available for routine visits to various project sites.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

  • One (1) to four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Successful completion of a written pre-employment assessment.
  • Pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
  • Complete a New Hire Orientation Quiz.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of oneself or others in the workplace.
  • Adhere to job site safety requirements as mandated by clients.
  • Utilize required safety equipment as specified by clients.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy.
  • Pass a physical examination, if necessary.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. of tools and materials; assistance is recommended for heavier items.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven appearance when required to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment.
