Job Overview

Vulcan Fire - Idaho is seeking skilled professionals to enhance our team of life safety specialists. Our positions operate on a structured schedule, with required participation in an on-call rotation.

Position Highlights:

The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in fire alarm systems, hold a NICET II certification or higher, and have a Denver Fire Installer Card. Backflow certification is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical capabilities, analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning. This is a full-time role that demands the ability to achieve production targets in a dynamic low-voltage environment, with ample opportunities for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions provided in various formats including written, oral, or diagrams.
  • Interpret documents such as work orders and procedural manuals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Utilize hand tools and small power tools proficiently.
  • Assist senior technicians in the inspection and testing of alarm systems and extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations as needed.
  • Lift and transport equipment and tools weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Handle ladders safely, with a maximum height of 28 ft.
  • Participate in regular safety training sessions.
  • Employ personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Learn about construction phases, building codes, and NFPA 72 regulations.
  • Dress professionally according to company standards.
  • Foster positive working relationships with vendors, clients, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Utilize time management software effectively.
  • Communicate with Central Station via mobile devices for system management.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and prints.
  • Conduct inspections and tests of alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA 72 & 10.
  • Utilize Honeywell CLSS reports software for documentation.
  • Accurately manage technician paperwork and inventory for job assignments.
  • Keep the fleet vehicle organized, clean, and well-stocked.
  • Ensure fleet vehicle maintenance is performed timely and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Adhere to company vehicle policies and maintain safe driving practices.
  • Prepare clear and timely work orders and reports.
  • Utilize office equipment, mobile devices, and computers as necessary.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to learn on the job effectively.
  • Completion of all necessary apprentice applications.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer usage and multitasking.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • NICET II Certification is mandatory.
  • Denver Fire Alarm Installer certification is required.
  • Backflow Certification is preferred.
  • Additional relevant licenses are advantageous.
  • Successful completion of a 10-panel drug test.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
