Job Overview

As a vital member of our life safety team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our operations.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in fire alarm service, holding NICET II certification or higher, along with a Colorado Springs Fire Installer Card. Backflow certification is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical abilities, analytical thinking, and a commitment to ongoing learning. This full-time role requires meeting daily, weekly, and monthly production targets in a dynamic low-voltage environment, with ample opportunities for advancement into senior roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow and execute instructions provided in various formats.
  • Interpret documents such as work orders and procedural manuals.
  • Engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Utilize hand tools and small power tools proficiently.
  • Assist senior technicians in inspecting and testing alarm systems and extinguishers in accordance with NFPA standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations as needed.
  • Lift and transport equipment and tools weighing up to 80 lbs.
  • Handle ladders safely, reaching heights of up to 28 ft.
  • Participate in weekly safety training sessions.
  • Employ personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently.
  • Learn all aspects of construction, building codes, and NFPA 72 regulations.
  • Adhere to the professional dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Foster positive working relationships with vendors, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Utilize time management software via laptop and/or text messaging systems.
  • Communicate with the Central Station to manage system statuses and signal checks.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Conduct inspections and tests of alarm systems and extinguishers per NFPA 72 & 10.
  • Utilize Honeywell CLSS reports software effectively.
  • Accurately manage technician paperwork and stock transfers.
  • Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Ensure timely maintenance of the fleet vehicle and report any operational issues to the supervisor.
  • Comply with the Company Vehicle Policy and maintain safe driving practices.
  • Prepare accurate and timely work orders and reports.
  • Utilize office equipment, cell phones, and computers efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to learn on the job.
  • Completion of all required apprentice applications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer usage and multitasking.
  • Logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Colorado Springs Fire Installer License (mandatory).
  • NICET II Certification.
  • Backflow Certification (preferred).
  • Additional licenses are advantageous.
  • Pass a 10-panel drug screening.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
