Senior Manager of Supplier Oversight

In this crucial position, you will facilitate Amgen-sponsored clinical trials, concentrating on key initiatives within Global Development Operations.

You will provide direction, contribute to supplier strategies, and drive supplier performance in alignment with program objectives. Additionally, you will assist our study teams and essential stakeholders in optimizing clinical trial execution with our suppliers. We manage clinical trials on a global scale. Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on supplier strategies and ensure adequate supplier oversight for assigned programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with study management, medical, quality, and other key stakeholders to proactively plan and execute supplier qualifications to fulfill program requirements.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with key cross-functional leaders to comprehend and translate business goals and priorities.
  • Coordinate with governance leads to ensure appropriate oversight of Amgen's program portfolio with suppliers.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of program-level standards and processes with suppliers as necessary.
  • Support study initiation and execution with suppliers, which may include activities such as sourcing and scope of work development.
  • Partner with program leads to ensure alignment across program execution.
  • Facilitate clear communication channels (both internal and external).
  • Develop metrics and tools to support oversight and provide visibility to senior management.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and Amgen to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work with R&D Quality on inspection readiness.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of clinical experience
  • Or a Master’s degree and 4 years of clinical experience
  • Or a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of clinical experience
  • Or an Associate's degree and 10 years of clinical experience
  • Or a high school diploma/GED and 12 years of clinical experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS/BA/BSc in the sciences or RN
  • 9 years of experience in life sciences or a medically related field, including 6 years of biopharmaceutical clinical research experience (clinical research experience obtained working on clinical trials at a biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO company)
  • Experience in managing clinical research suppliers (e.g., CROs, central labs, Imaging, eCOA, IRT, etc.)
  • Experience in managing direct reports
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), FDA regulations and guidelines, and international regulatory requirements/guidelines
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in proactive issue management
  • Experience in writing and presenting clearly to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills
  • Professional collaboration and leadership abilities

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
