Position Overview: This role is situated within the Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection (OAWP) and is accountable to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for OAWP. The key responsibilities encompass:
1. Strategic Oversight: Provide comprehensive supervision of advisory services, analytical assessments, and strategic formulation of OAWP policies and procedures related to case intake and investigations.
2. Integrity in Investigations: Ensure that investigations are conducted fairly, promptly, and thoroughly, adhering to established protocols and maintaining the utmost integrity.
3. Legislative Review: Analyze proposed legislation, enacted laws, regulations, executive orders, and associated documents, implementing necessary actions that impact OAWP's investigatory roles.
4. Representation: Act as a representative for the Assistant Secretary in confidential and complex discussions with stakeholders, including employees, media, and legislative bodies, by preparing and delivering briefings and reports, and may involve testifying before Congress.
5. Leadership of Investigative Team: Oversee and guide a substantial team of over 80 professionals, including attorneys, investigators, and analysts, in establishing national policies and procedures while executing the Accountability Act.
6. Senior Leadership Participation: Engage as a member of OAWP's senior leadership team, contributing to the execution of OAWP's strategic objectives and mission fulfillment.
