Service Operations Supervisor

Location: Fairland, IN

Position Summary

Central Rent-A-Crane, Inc. is in search of a Service Operations Supervisor to lead and manage a team of Service Technicians and Mechanics. This full-time, exempt role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and oversee team members by providing orientation, training, task assignments, scheduling, coaching, and disciplinary actions; clearly communicate job expectations; evaluate performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workshop environment by following organizational standards and legal regulations; proactively address potential safety concerns.
  • Supervise the activities of team members to ensure proper servicing, repair, and maintenance of heavy lifting equipment and commercial vehicles.
  • Organize the service shop to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Set departmental goals and ensure they are achieved.
  • Collaborate with the Dispatch Department to align service operations with job schedules.
  • Monitor and manage all service department tools and equipment.
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program for all machinery.
  • Control operational costs and maintenance expenses.
  • Analyze and track maintenance performance metrics.
  • Manage inventory effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction machinery; familiarity with cranes and lifting equipment is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Availability to work 40 hours per week, with potential overtime.
  • Proficient in using telecommunication devices, computers, and other office tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; experience with maintenance management software is beneficial.
