Lead Completions Engineer

Role Summary: The Senior Completions Engineer will be responsible for crafting completion strategies and financial assessments, ensuring these plans are effectively communicated within the organization and to external partners for strategic planning.
Collaboration: Engage with subsurface, production, and drilling teams, along with vendors, to formulate comprehensive completion procedures that adhere to regulatory standards and corporate guidelines.
Operational Excellence: Partner with Production and Subsurface teams to devise stimulation initiatives aimed at alleviating scale accumulation, water blockages, and other downhole challenges. Oversee the execution of these operational programs.
Supervision: Direct coiled tubing N2 jetting operations for wells experiencing liquid loading.
Risk Management: Collaborate with asset teams to identify and address production risks related to downhole scale formation or deterioration of completions and formations.
Oversight: Provide guidance and supervision during the execution of completion activities, ensuring compliance with the Company's Management System and Management of Change protocols.
Design and Analysis: Conduct casing and tubing design, analysis, and integrity assessments to guarantee isolation and structural integrity throughout stimulation and production phases.
Equipment Management: Determine completion equipment requirements, engage in vendor selection, and monitor vendor performance.
Financial Tracking: Create well/project-specific Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs) and monitor variances against actual performance.
Collaboration with Supply Chain: Interface regularly with the global supply chain team, drilling, production, reservoir engineers, geoscientists, data scientists, and HES personnel.
Accounting Responsibilities: Execute monthly accounting tasks including cost tracking, equipment inventory management, accruals, and variance analysis.
Technical Communication: Prepare and present technical reports for management reviews, peer evaluations, and technical committee discussions.
Accountability: Take responsibility for both successes and failures, sharing insights to enhance operational efficiency and HES performance.
Safety Leadership: Champion safety throughout completion operations, participating in or leading incident investigations, vendor assessments, and safety meetings as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering is preferred; however, other engineering degrees may be considered based on relevant experience.
- Experience: 7-12 years in the field, with a minimum of 7 years in conventional completion engineering or well servicing, including at least 3 years with an Operator.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical expertise in casing and tubing designs, completion equipment, cased hole logging/diagnostics, and well servicing with wireline and coiled tubing.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with completion and well servicing workflow processes and software such as SAP, WellCat, WellView, and Nodal Analysis.
- Modeling Software: Experience with Cerberus or similar downhole/conveyance modeling tools.
- Office Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Access).
- Additional Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously. A self-starter with a strong commitment to improving outcomes and exceptional teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
