Position Overview:
As a vital member of our team, the Financial Patient Advocate engages directly with patients and their families, providing essential support either through phone interactions or face-to-face consultations.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will facilitate the resolution of patient accounts by:
1. Conducting financial clearance and collecting payments.
2. Identifying and securing sponsorship opportunities and financial assistance.
3. Assessing eligibility and delivering educational resources regarding various State and Federal sponsorship programs.
4. Assisting patients in determining eligibility for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance.

Your work will be performed in alignment with Providence's mission, philosophy, and core values, ensuring that our commitment to care is evident in every interaction.

Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office.
- Proven success as a Patient Financial Advocate Associate, ideally within Providence St. Joseph Health or its affiliates, with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience with automated, computerized account follow-up systems, preferably Epic, for at least two years.

Preferred:
- Familiarity with healthcare account reimbursement processes from insurance providers.
- Previous exposure to medical and health plan terminology.
