Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Personnel Security Specialist to join our team in the Badging and Clearances department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for processing necessary documents to obtain passes, badges, and security clearances for employees and interview individuals to clarify information submitted for review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate pre-employment background screening and perform initial and annual certification Human Reliability Program (HRP) processes.
  • Issue security badges, permits, and database input for the INL access control systems.
  • Responsible for badge issuance documentation for INL employees and subcontractors, ensuring all inactive and lost badges are removed from the system.
  • Manage U.S. visitor management and access.
  • Facilitate the international colleague review and access process.
  • Responsible for HSPD-12 enrollment and activation functions, conducting reviews of governmental forms clearance and HSPD-12 forms for completeness and accuracy before submission to DOE.
  • Distribute program information to customers and collaborators.
  • Maintain documentation of administrator processes and help with program reports, providing reports to Counterintelligence and maintaining individual HRP files.
  • Facilitate drug/alcohol test and documentation process.
  • Perform initial and annual certification processes, as assigned, and perform clearance process for Human Reliability Program (HRP) personnel.
  • Assist system administrator for Personnel Security programs and systems.
  • Respond to incoming Personnel Security or HRP ServiceID emails.
  • Provide on-the-job training for other program personnel.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Level 3: High school diploma, or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
    • Level 4: High school diploma, or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience.
    • Experience issuing badges or credentials.
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
