Security Clearance Coordinator

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to join our Badging and Clearances division. This role operates on a 4x10 schedule, allowing for a three-day weekend each week. The primary responsibilities include processing essential documentation for security passes, badges, and clearances for personnel, as well as conducting interviews to verify submitted information.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate background checks for prospective employees and manage annual certification processes for the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
- Oversee the issuance of security badges and maintain accurate records within the INL access control systems.
- Ensure proper documentation for badge issuance for both employees and subcontractors, including the removal of inactive or lost badges from the system.
- Manage visitor access and security for U.S. nationals and international colleagues.
- Conduct thorough reviews of governmental forms related to clearance and HSPD-12, ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
- Disseminate program information to relevant stakeholders and maintain comprehensive documentation of administrative processes.
- Assist in the facilitation of drug and alcohol testing protocols.
- Support the system administrator in managing Personnel Security programs and respond to inquiries related to Personnel Security or HRP.
- Provide on-the-job training for other personnel involved in the program.
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 3: High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Level 4: High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in issuing security badges or credentials is essential.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.
Salary Range: Level 3 ($21.90/hr - $36.13/hr) / Level 4 ($25.18/hr - $41.54/hr). Compensation is determined based on education, experience, and qualifications.
