Job Overview

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to join our Badging and Clearances division. This role operates on a 4x10 schedule, providing a unique work-life balance with every Friday off. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing essential documentation to secure passes, badges, and security clearances for personnel while conducting interviews to verify submitted information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate and oversee pre-employment background checks, including initial and annual certification processes for the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • Manage the issuance of security badges and permits, ensuring accurate database entries for the access control systems.
  • Maintain documentation related to badge issuance for employees and subcontractors, ensuring the removal of inactive and lost badges from the system.
  • Oversee visitor management and access for U.S. visitors.
  • Facilitate the review and access process for international colleagues.
  • Conduct HSPD-12 enrollment and activation, ensuring governmental forms are complete and accurate prior to submission.
  • Disseminate program information to stakeholders and maintain comprehensive documentation of administrative processes.
  • Assist with drug and alcohol testing processes and documentation.
  • Provide on-the-job training for other personnel involved in the program.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 3: High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Level 4: High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in issuing badges or credentials is essential.
  • This position necessitates the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay range for this position: Level 3 ($21.90/hr - $36.13/hr) / Level 4 ($25.18/hr - $41.54/hr), determined by education, experience, and credentials.
