Patient Access Representative

Job Summary
The Patient Access Representative is a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the patient registration process, including verifying patient identity, reviewing schedules and physician orders, and scanning important documents such as insurance cards and ID's. You will also be responsible for explaining and completing complex regulatory and compliance documents, adhering to all applicable privacy and compliance standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances, and performing transactions securely.
Responsibilities:
- Verify patient identity and select the correct patient record
- Review schedules and physician orders to register patients for the appropriate service
- Scan important documents such as insurance cards, ID's, Living Wills, and POAs
- Verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record
- Explain and complete complex regulatory and compliance documents
- Collect co-payments, deposits, and outstanding balances
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Two years of customer service and/or data entry experience
- Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology preferred
- Interpersonal skills necessary for successful communication with patients and staff
