Residence Life Coordinator

Washington & Jefferson College is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Residence Life Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the Office of Residence Life, this individual will be responsible for fostering a supportive, inclusive, and learning-focused experience within our campus residence halls.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the daily housing operations of campus residence halls, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students.
- Provide leadership and facilitate major campus housing initiatives, including move-in, winter hall closing, spring semester hall opening, and end-of-year closing.
- Supervise and train a staff of Resident Assistants, promoting their professional development and growth.
- Implement the Residential Learning & Engagement Framework within the defined campus housing area and through department-wide programs.
- Provide high-level direct support to students, collaborating with faculty and staff to make appropriate referrals and utilize effective communication and documentation tools.
- Facilitate weekly RA staff team and one-to-one meetings, promoting open communication and collaboration.
- Work collaboratively with campus partners to support departmental, divisional, and college-wide initiatives.
- Serve as a member of the Administrator On-Call team, responding to urgent and emergency student needs on campus.
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- An intentional focus on relationship building and all aspects of student learning and development.
- Proven ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and administer work in the face of competing commitments.
- A true commitment to working as part of a supportive and collaborative Residence Life team.
The Residence Life Coordinator position is responsible for the supervision of paraprofessional staff, Resident Assistants.
