Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. POSITION SUMMARY

The Residential Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that the needs of the individuals supported are met through collaborative partnerships. This includes advocating for their rights, promoting health and safety, and assisting them in identifying and achieving their personal goals. The Supervisor leads a team of Direct Support Professionals and collaborates with clinical providers to create and implement individualized support plans. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that these plans are executed and documented accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with individuals to uphold their rights, health, safety, and personal aspirations at all times.
  • Advocate for individuals in various settings and situations.
  • Facilitate the development of new life skills among the individuals we support.
  • Assist individuals in overcoming obstacles to establish and maintain meaningful relationships and social roles.
  • Maintain open communication with individuals, their families, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Utilize knowledge of business operations to guide the team and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Exercise independent judgment in significant matters to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and mentor assigned team members.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality staff.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to align supports and services with the needs of residents.
  • Identify, report, and prevent any instances of abuse towards individuals.
  • Manage residence and individual finances to ensure compliance and balance.
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities and cover Direct Support Professional duties as needed.
  • Ensure all team members are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities effectively, providing ongoing supervision and guidance.
  • Oversee team members' work hours while ensuring adequate staffing to meet the needs of residents.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of All FREE Employees

  • Communicate respectfully with all individuals, including those we support, supervisors, team members, and community members.
  • Adhere to FREE's confidentiality policies, maintaining strict confidentiality regarding all information related to individuals and their families.
  • Meet all safety training requirements and report any unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Participate in all required meetings and events, including those outside of standard working hours.
  • Comply with all job requirements and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
  • Uphold FREE's ethical standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities of FREE Employees in Leadership/Management Positions:

  • Ensure adherence to FREE policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Implement continuous quality improvement processes for departmental services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources policies, ensuring compliance with Equal Employment Opportunities and Affirmative Action Programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent for OPWDD; Bachelor's Degree for OMH.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of supervisory experience; candidates may qualify under specific internal criteria.
  • Specialized Training, Licenses, Certifications: Not required; training will be provided as needed upon hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities: Proficient computer and writing skills are preferred; must be organized and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Other Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old; valid NYS Driver's License preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires in-person engagement, with some travel in an agency vehicle for designated drivers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods (at least 8 hours).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in operating standard office equipment is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, or lifting up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $62,400 - $63,900, based on various relevant factors including experience and qualifications.
