Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) strategy for the designated unit.
- Collaborate with the operations manager to ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct training sessions on procedural and regulatory standards.
- Support the execution of operational requirements.
- Establish a proactive approach to incident prevention and safety management.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines, including EPA and OSHA standards.
- Engage with customer SH&E representatives to align on safety initiatives.
- Oversee the reporting of incidents to relevant parties.
- Lead safety audits and investigations to determine root causes of incidents.
- Spend time in the field to observe and assess safety practices among team members.
- Monitor leading indicators to identify and address safety trends.
Qualifications for Success:
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and environmental best practices.
- Strong analytical skills to assess situations and make informed decisions.
- Experience in training and development is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment, particularly with conveying systems and rail operations.
- Experience with compliance documentation for environmental permits is required.
- Possession of a recognized safety certification or the ability to obtain one within the first year.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate ladders and uneven surfaces.
- Capacity to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors.
- Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
