We are in search of a Senior Vice President (SVP) for our Frontiers Group. This role involves collaborating with leadership to further the mission of supporting groundbreaking ideas while overseeing daily operations. The SVP will work closely with the Executive Vice President, Office of Science and Innovation, and lead a dedicated team to manage a diverse portfolio of partnerships and grants, both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a pioneering science philanthropy initiative, achieving substantial impact across the life sciences.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Frontiers Group, promoting its mission and activities on various platforms.
  • Manage, inspire, and recruit talent to cultivate a dynamic and innovative team.
  • Oversee grant-making processes, portfolio management, and events.
  • Develop strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including thought leaders and research institutions.
  • Identify and manage special projects, initiatives, and critical issue analyses.
  • Formulate effective strategies in collaboration with key advisors, establishing program directions and policies.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and key advisors, including participation in board meetings.
  • Manage contractors and vendors effectively.
  • Oversee budget and financial planning, including the annual budget process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience in scientific and/or technical leadership roles.
  • 5 years of experience managing staff and multi-tier teams.
  • 2 years of experience in science philanthropy or scientific grant management.
  • Proven track record in managing complex scientific programs.
  • Experience in building relationships with external partners and thought leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a scientific discipline with post-doctoral research experience.
  • 10+ years of post-PhD experience in scientific leadership roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in science philanthropy or related administration roles.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to new opportunities and changes in the landscape.
  • Operational and budget management experience.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with fine motor skills to operate office equipment.

Work Environment:

This position allows for a hybrid work environment, with both remote and onsite work options.

Travel Requirements:

Estimated travel of 30-50% for compliance oversight and participation in conferences.
